NGO Tammana celebrated its remarkable journey of 12 years of serving the community at its 119th Event called ASHIA: meaning Life and Hope by organising its Annual Award Ceremony differently this time to acknowledge its team for their volunteered service all year round.
Founder President Isha Kakaria shared that “ Like this pandemic could not deter the team’s spirit to serve the society, it also couldn’t hinder us from celebrating our entry into the 13th year. Ashia is one of the most awaited times of the year and going entirely digital for this event just didn’t feel complete. So we opted for going live while handing over the awards in person was a safer option than organising a gathering.”
General Secretary, Jaskaran Singh revealed that “as a precaution, Corona backgrounds were declared in advance, if any; & thermal screening before visiting the awardees’ place was ensured. Proper use of sanitizers & wearing of masks was maintained.”
Presenters Isha Kakaria (Founder) went LIVE on the NGO’s social media platforms while the team joyfully connected online. The event started with the customary lamp lighting ceremony with everyone joining digitally from home.
Upholding the surprise factor, the presenters not only rooted for the members but routed to the member’s place to present the most prestigious 7 Star & Super Star Awards. Streamed ONLINE, awardees and their families were startled. Their excitement upon receiving the awards in person was a wonderful sight to witness together for the team.
The 7 Star Awards were given to “Commitment to Service to Vandana Ghuman, Best Debut to Harleen Arora, Resource Pool to Ruchi Kapoor, Ace of Initiative to Pratyusha Ghosh, Commitment to Excellence to Anubha Ohri, Marvellous Multitasker to Chandan Preet” & Suman Hooda was sashed the ‘Tammanaite of the Year’2020’.
Superstar Awards were presented to Sana Sachdeva & Harvinder Kaur.
Members Jaskaran Singh who completed 12 years & Prabhjeet Singh Grover who completed 8 years were acknowledged for their persistent commitment to the organisation.
Kismat Preet Kaur was announced the ‘Intern of the Year 2020’ Trophy.
Thereafter, the list of other felicitations were announced including experience certifications, KaroNa Warriors and Back end Contribution.
9 members completed 1 year , 7 members completed 2 years while 1 graduated with their 3 years of volunteering in the NGO.
2 members completed 4 years, 5 members completed 5 years, 5 completed 6 years, 1 members completed 7 years, 3 members completed 8 years & 2 members completed 12 years.
For their exemplary service for serving the needy, during the lockdown Jaskaran Singh, Arvind Kumar, Meenakshi Mahajan, Suman Hooda, Tejinder Singh, Harleen Arora, Sana Sachdeva, Anubha Ohri, Prabhjeet Singh Grover & Harvinder Kaur were announced as the ‘Karona Warriors’.
Rishabh Sood, Suman Hooda, Prabhjeet Singh, Sana Sachdeva, Anubha Ohri, Meenakshi Mahajan, Ruchi Kapoor, Jaskaran Singh, Harleen Arora, Arvind Kumar , Kamalpreet Kaur, Vandana Ghuman, Kanika Sapra, Anoop Garg & Suraj Chopra were appreciated for their back end contributions.
Cake Cutting was done LIVE too for all the members where all joined digitally to share the moment.
The year since the last annuals, the NGO organised various events like Diwali & Children’s Day educational & fun trip for the less privileged children of its adopted Government Elementary School under ‘Project Yakeen’, also held its annual community bonding event ‘Punya’. The ‘Karona’ Initiative also successfully conducted dry ration, Safety & sanitary kits distribution.
Various cases were resolved by providing essential help to individuals in distress including helping migrants, counselling, providing aid to the patients, arranging blood in exigencies and more. Digital events like Prithvi- Earth Day, Actifit – International Yoga Day and KahoNa – International Youth Day were also held thrivingly.
The NGO thanks every member, volunteer,donor,intern, associate, and media personnel for being a part of this journey.
